The JSAS Committee is always looking for opportunities to add events for JSAS members and so this list will potentially expand as more activities are confirmed. However to enable members to look out for and plan the main events the details.
Scotland versus England Golf Matches
A popular and regular on the Jakarta golfing fixture list is our own Calcutta Cup match with the Auld Enemy, England. We are waiting for confirmation on the course but tentatively this is being set for Saturday 25th August 2018 at Cengkareng. The format will be 4-Ball Better Ball matches for up to 16 players a side followed by a BBQ at the Club House.
If the date above is confirmed then we will look to hold a second event before the end of the year; failing this we will arrange it early in 2019 so we can fit a second event in 2019. Please contact Captain Roger Finnie to confirm your interest in playing in the fixture: email@example.com.
Want to enjoy a evening of fun and frivolity whilst also showing off your knowledge of Whisky. Join us at BWA House on Friday 21st September 2018 at this popular event where we will bring 6 different whiskies for you to identify with the winner getting a bottle to take home. Only Rpxxx,000 including food and all tastings. For those wanting other drinks as well we will be offering beer, wine and soft drinks as well. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for tickets and more information on the evening.
Centenary St Andrew’s Ball on Saturday 24th November 2018
Along with the Burn’s Supper, the 2018 St Andrew’s Ball will be our showcase event during the Centenary year for JSAS. The venue is already confirmed at one of Jakarta’s 5* Hotels and a great line up of entertainment is being organized. Due to the size of the venue, tickets will be limited so please book early to avoid disappointment. Ticket sales have opened and please contact the Chieftain at email@example.com to get more information and to reserve your table.
Centenary Burn’s Supper on Friday 25th January 2019
Robert Burns, Scotland’s National Poet, is the only poet globally who’s works are celebrated with such pomp and ceremony so a Burns Supper is not an event to be missed. Following a traditional format, the Burns’ Supper is also a night of great entertainment, story telling and of course recounting the great man’s works over the course of the evening’s activities. Everyone knows works by the Bard of Ayrshire even if they do not know they know. The date is fixed as above and will be at the same venue as the St Andrew’s Ball so mark your calendar and look out for updates on the launch of ticket sales soon.
Jakarta Highland Games
The highland games are always a popular day out for all the family. It has been a couple of years since the last holding of this event and so we are looking at the logistics of holding this event again in 2019. Much will depend on sponsorship for the event and so if you are interested to support it and/or help with the organization please contact the Cheiftain at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Social events hosted by JSAS and/or coordinated with/by Britcham, the British School, the Scottish Development Board, the Scottish Trade xxx and other likeminded Societies in Jakarta will be added and shared to members as they arise.
JSAS has held many successful events over the years and photos from some of these events are posted here for you to enjoy and/or download.
Many of the events held by the Society are naturally before the advent of digital cameras and camera phones but we would still like to add as many past pictures to our gallery as possible. If you have any pictures not already shown from these or other events held by JSAS please send them to the Chieftain at email@example.com.
If the files are heavy we would appreciate if they could be sent via a drop-box or similar application for ease of downloading.
